Has anyone made a shifter extension on one without weilding. If so how did you do it.

thats not really something you want to have to worry about coming apart my 2 cents

You could probably sleeve the two ends with a piece of thick-walled tubing that is drilled and tapped for some set screws... but yeah, just weld it or have someone else do so if you can't.
