What is the biggest tire you could run without ditching the ifs? I am just wondering I have my plan to ditch my ifs and 3.2 planned soon. Hopefully will start on it in the next few weeks after I get done with my $30 paint job.

What vehicle and year? The ones with the 10 bolt front will handle up to roughly a 33 without much problem. There have been people running 35s, but with 35s, CV carnage is more prominent. If you've got the 8 bolt front, then I'm not too sure on that one. But from what I've read about the difference in strengths between the 8 bolt and 10 bolt, I'd guess that the 8 bolt couldn't handle much more than a 31 without problems. But that's just a rough guess.
FWIW, 10 bolt fronts are in all the Isuzus from roughly 88 and on. I believe the official year is 87, but I'm not 100% sure on that ... and knowing how Isuzu likes to reuse old parts, there might be some 8 bolt 87s.

The biggest I've seen on an Isuzu IFS is 35. Can't say that I've seen any bigger without a SAS.

Gilbert has been running 36s on a '93 (?) Trooper for quite a few years with relatively little problems.
There is a VX guy in Alaska running 37 or 38s.
They look cool

Ya it really depends on how you drive. 39Æs would be the absolute max if youÆre where just driving around town and hitting dirt roads now and then.
If youÆre actually going to be 4wheeling I would say 33's. 35's if youÆre a good driver and enjoy trail repairs.
But really the stock IFS was only designed for the stock tires. And they really meant it. If I had to do my trooper over again I would have either left it totally stock, or I would have spend my money on a strait axel. With coils and a conventional 4 link with panhard setup.

that is intersting how much lift could you obtain how high are you able to go. You might wonder why I am asking and the reason is I have a bunch of parts sitting to go into my rodeo. Including a soild axle and 37s a big long list and my buddies were saying there is no way it is possible that the 37s will fit with ifs just fit thats all. I just want to see the look on there faces when I pull up with em on but I dont even know if its possible. what do you think?

You're going to have to hack some sheet metal for 37's to fit on the IFS... especially if turning is a requirement.

on a 1st gen trooper I could see 37's fitting with just a body lift and some sawzall/bfh work. on a rodeo it may be more difficult.
you can make it work if you really want to. you will need to regear for sure, and if you plan on hitting the trail, get lots of spares.

Just guessing right now, but it seems to me that it will be difficult to get enough clearance in the rear because you don't have a lot of options with a sawzall on the front side of the wheel well due to the door.
