I've been working on repairing a cooling leakage underneath the intake manifold on my gf's '95 Sportage 2.0 MRDI 4WD, all went well except when I got everything back together again, the car was dead, and it still is. When I turn on the ignition there's a loud summingsound coming from the two black Bosch relays in the fuse box (under the hood). If I pull out one of them both shuts up..
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated...
What are these relays for?

I beleive one is for ignition system, the other runs the fuel pump. If they're humming, then I guess one might be crook and sucking the voltage down. Try replacing them, you might be pleasantly surprised. I've had to replace one of mine twice in the last 12 months, they're just poor quality. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

"sublime" if you don't mind me asking, where exactly was your cooling leak at? My wife's sportage has one but its on the exhaust manifold side. Right behind the alternator on the block. Appears to be an aluminum tube running from the lower radiator hose. The tube dissapears under the exhaust manifold and goes some where. Its not a huge leak, just drips from where the tube comes out of another aluminum block that is rounded. The block mounts to the block with 2 bolts. Maybe an o-ring or something? Oh, did you ever find out what your issues were or still are?

myrunner99, were you described your leak sounds like were the tube goes into the block. It is just a o-ring that needs to be replaced. It's an easy fix. It's been a while but I think there's a bolt the holds the tube in, just remove the bolt, pull out the tube, take the o-ring to the parts store to size it up. The new one will be round were the old one look flat. I will look at mine and if it's differant than I described I will post back. Dennis

Just finished the fix, literally, just walked in from the garage. I already have a crap load of o-rings but didn't realize it was a flat washer style. But I went to Advance and they had nothing in that style. So I went to ACE hardware and found one in the plumbing section. All fixed now. Thanks for the help and I didn't mean to hijack this thread, sorry.
