Got my diff pulled just a few minutes ago. It's an open 4.10, gonna throw 4.88's in there after I pick them up on Saturday.

Took a few pics. Camera not very good, sorry.

Before I took the diff off, if I hold the pinion flange and spin the ps tire, I got pulsation through the diff. If I spun ps tire freely and didn't hold flange, flange would turn, not the driver side. If I spun ds, the ps would spin every time. i was expecting some toasted spider gears. They look okay. I knew that there was some slop in the gears, IE when I turned the flange it would take second for the pinion to hit the ring. That's really the only thing I see. Maybe I will see something in the sunlight or maybe more veteran eyes will see something. Some of the pinion teeth looked to be broken off closer to the flange, but all contact areas looked okay. Very well worn, but okay.

Also note the gear oil on the on the bearing cap... it's brown like mud / milkshake. I just changed gear oil not long ago. Found lots of shavings on the drain plug too.

I guess if it's an okay then whatever... I am still getting 4.88s
