Getting the Wheeling Fever
i have 4" tg springs. lift was ~8" ,from 18" stock to 26". granted the stock springs were sagged badly (rears riding on the overloads fronts all but touching the bumstops). fits 34" swampers that just barely touch under full compression, in the front. rears all but touch.

85 runner -dual cases, headlight harness, 34" TSL's
86 toy buggy getting sas'ed with a 14 bolt rear - 8.5" 10 bolt front (this will go away when i find a 60)

Wheeler
Quote
Don't worry about the length I want all the opinions I can get!!!! I'm gonna be doing mostly on road driving with some minor off road. My job and golf on the weekends doesn't give me enough time to wheel too much. I just want something that looks tough and rides smooth. I don't want to take away too much from the factory ride. Right now the thing rides awesome, I want to keep it that way just make it wheelable and like I said before an overall smooth ride. Thanks for all the input guys!!!!!!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
It sounds like you want the look more than the ability. Not to say that your truck won't be capable, any Toyota with a mild lift and 33" tires will surprice you. If it were me and you like the way it rides and just need clearance for bigger tires, and you have a good rust free frame and body (body mounts), I would go with the 3" body lift if you want to keep the cost to a minimum. If cost isn't an issue then new front and rear 3"-4" springs of most any brand that mounts in the stock locations except Northwest Off Road(way too stiff). If you want the middle ground front springs with no more than 3" lift rear blocks. It will ride close to the same probably better and be less costly than all new springs. Don't forget shocks must be changed with a suspension lift but not with a body lift.

85 4Runner, R151F, Marlins dual case, high steer, and frnt springs. Chevy rears, TJM bumper w/Ramsey winch, custom rear w/swing out tire carrier and rock rails. BudBuilt cross member w/ 2" drivetrain lift, 33" Boggers. 5:71 gears & F&R spool.
