You can do a patent search on the number in the 2nd pic. That should give you some info on what that part is and who patented it. Might give you some direction to go at least. I would have looked it up but the screw is blocking the number.

thanks all, especially Gizzy, I didn't think about that. I've been worried all along that it might be some kind of starter disable like Jerry said, that's why I don't want to mess with it. I'm going to get the other numbers and try that patent search. I'll let you guys know what I find out.

Ahhhh, I had one on my 88 Beretta GT didnt know what it was... Clipped the wires under the dash for stereo Install and went to start it, No go, nothing. That Jack from what Im told goes to the "brain box" to reprogram it for other saftey features, such as a Glass Break Sensor, or for when you leave the windows down, you can arm the alarm, and it still goes off if someone tries to reach inside. I had the "loaded" system, gave me everything I needed. and It also can be changed for sensitvity. It'll go off from a Sneeze, or changed for when Something actually does happen. Also, I have come across some that Look Very Similer at work, It was on a key fob and thats what disabled the system, it plugged right in to that jack to disarm it, pulled it out and it armed it.

Wow, super, what did you do to get the Beretta to run after that? Was that factory installed? maybe I better leave it alone. I'm going to hook up an aftermarket alarm with remote start in a week or so, maybe I'll see where the wires go and disconnect everything at that time. Thanks for the info.

Body Damage is Cool
Just have the guys at the shop you bring it to identify it. You might already have an alarm they might be able to show you how it works or buy a new manual for it.

Soldered them back as a last ditch effort to see if that was the problem after a good 2 hour panic after it wouldnt even click over. I went hmmmm, wonder if those are supposed to not be meesed with.... I would take it to an Car Electronics Shop for them to see what model it is and maybe they can give you some insight on how to disable it without disabling anything else on your Trooper. There was a couple of thimes that, I went to open my door and the alarm went off once I was inside the Car and was trying to get the alarm off with the buttons on the fob. The doors locked, the windows locked up, Starter would not turn over......SO after letting it sit for about 20 min while on the phone with a tech for Viper Alarms, I had to wait... Unlock the Door from the inside, Pop the hood and disconnect the battery, PITA!!! SO I had it turned down so I wouldnt disconnect the starter. 3 Weeks later IT got Totaled, But I still have the alarm system.

BTW, A LOT of systems are integrated into the Vehicle, so If you remove one thing, you can make something else go wrong. BE careful.... I dont want you to be without a Trooper while you figure out WTH to do. Later

I plan on doing the remote start myself, I'm pretty experienced with alarms, but I've never seen anything like that. I guess I'll see what I see when I take the dash apart. I'll either disconnect the whole thing if I can, or leave it alone. Thanks guys.
