Getting the Wheeling Fever
The parking brake cable on my '90 ext. cab broke the other day. I got a replacement and I've got it 90% installed but I can't seem to figure out how to get the pigtail from the original cable out of the hand lever in the cab. How the heck does one get that piece out? Does the bar that contacts the idiot light sensor come out so that the hand lever can rotate enough to get to that cable end? That bar doesn't seem to want to move. Surely I don't need to remove the entire hand lever assembly.

Yep, if you look at the other side you will see a hole in the caseing that the rod slides in. Use a small drift and a hammer and knock it out. It is pressed in, not screwed in, I found out the hard way!!!!!

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think to look at the other side of the sheath. Hopefully that'll go well this afternoon.
