I have a problem with a rough and low idle when my Sporty is in gear. It is a little rough when it isn't but high enuf, but it seems like it has a miss. Also, when the car is cold it lacks power off the line but is okay once it gets going. When warmed up the power problem goes away. I cleaned all the connectors and the IAC and reattached them. Coils, plugs and wires replaced. No CEL.

BTW, I recently did the timing belt and water pump. The reason all this work was done was because my Sporty overheated badly. I changed the radiator and the heater core. Thanks to all on this forum for all the tips on how to do all the work I did.

I'm not sure. Could overheating cause these problems?

Check and clean the connectors on the TPS, IAC, MAF, and air intake Temp sensor.

In 1996 and newer it should be located in the top of the air-box.

FYI 1996 does NOT have a Air Intake Temp Sensor...at least the one I own and the one my brother has.

Ok my bad. Clean the other connectors and if necessary remove and clean the IAC, that cures a lot of idle, stalling, and erratic engine problems.
