Body Damage is Cool
87YotaLac's post about making a soft top got me to thinking. Amazing, huh? I didn't wanna hijack his thread, so...

...the fabric on my top is tired, starting to tear easily in places from years of UV exposure. The CanBack website is back, and the phone # works, so I called 'em up to ask about a replacement fabric. He said ( don't recall his name, real nice tho ) that a new fabric is half the cost of a new setup, so $600 including the windows. Evidently windows aren't an option anymore, they are standard. He said the snap strip across the gate is different now, and that I'd have to get the new-style peice. Also, the original folks made each fabric specific to the frame. So he would send me the fabric, the tool, and the snaps, so I can put 'em on myself and it fit correctly.

So there you go.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Nice. I have the old style with no windows. In some cases it would be nice to have them, but most of the time I have the top up or I can use the mirrors. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Really good to see they are babk in production again though.
