Im toying with the idea of eaither rebuilding my 2.6L in my Trooper, or ditching it fr an engine swap.
What is the price comparision? What are some best swaps? I know alot of you favor the 3.2L Swap, what about a 4.3L Chevy?
Should I stay with the rebuilt 2.6? I just dont want to get down the road after SAS is done with bigger tires and wish for some more power.

It really depends on how much work youÆre willing to take on. A 2.6 rebuild is just unbolting thing and then putting it back together. But a swap involves allot of fab work. Allot more than you would think.
ThatÆs not to say that a rebuild isnÆt hard. Its can be, but a swap is a whole different story. You will run into a lot of small problems that arenÆt easily resolved.
As for a possible swap choice. I would really stick with something that there are lots of parts for. And I would probably look for a whole vehicle. Not just an engine. If you have an entire car there you can see how everything was bolted and wired up before you do the swap. And you have all the pieces to make the engine in the new car work correctly. And price wise itÆs probably the better option in the long run. The insurance auctions are an idea. You can find low mile vehicles that are cheap.
