My father installed some 4" lift Rough Country leafs on his YJ, front and rear. The rear has a good amount of lift, but the front is just 1.5". He has a winch on the front of his jeep. He called Rough Country, they sent him a new front set, same problem. He called again, new set, same problem. Rough Country says the springs should support the winch fine. Now they are not returning his calls. Anyone else have saggy Rough Country springs?

The weight of a winch should not cause the lift to lose even a full inch. Good luck!

Originally he thought they might be the wrong springs. However he has been on the phone with the engineers from Rough Country and they are the right set according to them. The company blamed it on a bad batch of springs (weak steel or something), but said the new set should correct the problem. The kit came with just the springs, bushings, and I think sway bar extensions which he is not using. This is just ridiculous, he now has 3 sets of unusable front springs and is just not a happy customer. Seems like a trivial thing for them to give him some decent springs...I just wanted to see if anyone else has had a bad experience with Rough Country.

Maybe he can sell all three sets and get some Old Man Emu springs for the front.
They offer different spring rates designed to hold the extra weight ARB bumpers and winches add up front. My experience has been they are right on the money with thier lift claims. No experince with Rough Country.
I opted for the medium springs.

I have heard of a few people with the same thing. Rough Country is usually really good with customer service and will try to fix any problem that you have with their products. I have a few friends wheeling Rough Country springs on their YJ's and they haven't had any problems. Actually they get really good flex with the springs. Did he contact anyone else about the last set?
