Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hi all,

So I blew my alternator fuse today - still not quite sure how, but I'll think about that after I get the fuse replaced. Speaking of: How exactly does the 80A alternator fuse come out? I've looked in the FSM, but it doesn't really say anything about removal. I've tried pulling, prying, but I can't figure out how to actually remove the thing. Hints/tips anyone?

Thanks,

Matt

Disconnect battery,
Unbolt fusebox assembly, roll over
Unbolt 80a fuse; comes out from the bottom.

Also, INSPECT THE ALTERNATOR HARNESS. These older trucks are starting to have material failures, so check the condition of the main plug and the insulation. This is a fire-starter. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the tips!

Got the thing out and replaced. I'll have a look at that alternator harness. Yay. More electricals.
