Body Damage is Cool
Does anyone know what the stock ring gear ratio for an '81 CJ5 is? AMC 20 in the rear, and Dana 30 in the front.

Thanks
Brandon

It is easy to find YOUR OWN ratio. Make a mark on the driveshaft and on a tire...Jack up the tire and turn it ONE TURN.. How many turns or parts of turns the driveshaft goes is the ratio!
Wranglers mostly came with 4:11 for a 4 cyl and 3:07 for a 6 cyl.

Most of the d20 ive found have either 3.31 or 3.73 in em. Theres lots of ways to check though. Pull the cover and count the teeth on the pumpkin and divide by the other set or turn the tires and see how many times the drive shaft rotates. Those work well for getting it quick. Or if yours still has the tag on the axle. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
