I believe there is a slot by the auto shifter that you can insert a key into and then you should be able to move the shifter lever. I have never worked on an auto trans but it sounds like maybe a linkage between the brake pedal and the trans may be jammed. Just a guess....I'm sure someone on the forum can help you. Good luck!
