Greetings from the "Older Toyota Trucks" forum. I'm eyeing a new Tacoma and was wondering how much below MSRP others were managing to get them for.
They sell so well that I'm afraid that offering a few hundred over "invoice" might not work with a Toyota dealer.
What was your experience?

I paid $750 over invoice a year ago for an 06. If I were buying now, I would shoot for invoice minus whatever incentive ($750?) is currently available. Certainly do your research as you might be able to do better than that. Watch out for junk fees! The FJ is the hot vehicle now and I think that helps Taco buyers to some extent. Check True Market Values (TMV) on edmunds.com as that gives some indication of what people are paying in your area. I hate to say it, but this forum is pretty much dead. You might be better served to check other boards as well.

Thanks for the replies. It's good to be forearmed with knowledge. I hate the games dealers play. I'll figure out what I'm willing to pay, then they can take it or leave it (my 88 will probably last another 5 years).

My parents just bought the '07 hyprid camery. They went through a friend that works at the auto auction and got it for $700 below what the stealer was going for. But before they went to their friend, they were going to go through COSTCO. At some dealerships, if you present your card or whatever to them they nock off a bunch of stuff, ie Deilvery fee, dealer fee....ect. I know if you go though COSTCO or maybe SAMS CLUB that there is no haggling about the price, it is pre-set between themselves. But you do save a buch of cash. You might want to check into that
By the way I think a membership cost around $50-$100. Plus you can save on food and what not.
Good Luck GOI
