 Ignition timing help on Gen1 cali style

Ok so I looked through the fsm and my crappy little haynes manuel. I just cant seem to get a clear procedure on setting my timing. As you know the cali version has two vacuum advance chambers attached to the distributer. Do I disconnect one of them? Do I disconnect none of them. What should I set the timing itself at?
Please help!! Been wrestling with this for some time now.
Side question. How do I display a pic with my profile.

I have never been able to get a good answer to this, so I just set the timing with the lines plugged. Can't help with the pic, sorry....

my wifes d-50 is a cali.i always unpluged both and set timeing to 7 btdc.
87 dodge power ram 50,35" tires,5 1/2" total lift,4.6 gears,lockers front and rear,Rancho RS5000's,custom front bumper,custom rock sliders,cct extended diff breathers,75 amp alt(40 amp stock),thorely header,K&N,wheeled hard...

one question though. do I disconnect and plug the vacuum lines like I would normally?

Ohterwise it will idle like crap and you won't be able to set the timing right. Idle speed is important. I use two 16d nails...
