Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a 22r and need to replace my manifold. Saw a used one for sale that is on an 88 22re, automatic. Will that fit?

Depends what year your 22r is from. I believe the 85-87 manifolds have the O2 sensor on them, while 88+ have it down low just before the cat.

The 02 sensor shouldn't be a problem w/ your 22r (no 02 sensor). If the new manifold has a bung for the sensor you can just plug it.

Will the 88 have identical holes for the air pump?

What year is your 22r?

Does it have an air pump?

He lives here in CA, and if his rig is CA emissioned he will have an O2 sensor on his 22r.

I am not sure which year Toyota moved the O2 sensor on the 22re's down to in front of the cat. If they started with the first efi 22re than the '88 one wont work. I have a manifold from a CA emissioned 22r, it has the O2 sensor bung w/studs on it, you can have it for $20 if the one from the 22re wont work.

If your engine is a Fed emissioned one than any 22r/e manifold should work, you would just have to use a block off plate for manifolds w/the O2 bung in them.

I *think* that they moved the O2 sensor in 88. I know by '89 b/c that's how mine is.

They DID move it in 88... My 85, 86, and 87 Toys were all on the manifold, along with my buddy's 85 and 86. My other buddy's 88 was lowriding on the pipe.

I'll confirm that the 88 is low on the pipe
