My 1998 Isuzu Wizard diesel (4JX1 engine) has recently experienced severe loss of power when under load. The same symptoms were experienced 18 months ago, and were fixed by replacing the injector O rings. This time the mechanics have found that when the engine revs, gas bubbles appear in the fuel return line. They are reluctant to take the injectors out until they are sure that O ring failure could cause the gas in the fuel return. Is there anyone out there who knows if this is possible? Thanks in advance.

Is it possible youhave an air leak in the supply line or fuel filter? Your symptoms are rather pronounced so I would suggest looking for a direct, simple (less expensive??) solution. Eric

Hello BRG. As the injectors are on the pressure side of the IP, I can not see how air could be sucked into the fuel lines.......I would put a electric push pump on the supply side............

Crossbones, do you reccomend the Facet in-line fuel pump at 3-5 psi? Brian

Hello. If given the choice of availability and if there are any plans to use alternative fuels, 12-15 psi....you can always install a pressure regulator if you find it is to much.........

Thanks man, I'm running 100% biodiesel in both Troopers. It is getting cold here in northern New Mexico at night. I worry the IP is going to suffer in the morning. I was thinking besides the booster fuel pump, I'd heat the fuel a little bit too. I haven't worked out how I'll do this yet. Brian <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" />

Problem solved. O rings and injector sleeves have been replaced and the engine is now running sweet. Thanks for your input.
