shims or plastic spacer thingies? If you are referring to the plastic pieces that help cut down on rust from metal on metal between the springs at their ends... well, they should come with a tab that goes in a hole that keeps them generally in position. If they don't, then, ummm, duct tape? or perhaps drill a hole in there and squirt some RTV or something in to hopefully hold them in place....

Short pump... Before the plastic thingies springs squeaked.. even a small pebble on the hiway would produce a squeak. Big JIm <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />

BigJim, thanks for the imput. Will try to keep squeeky springs in the box spring.... I had no idea why they really put them in, just made sense that it could and does aid in reducing rust.... As for a quick fix of sorts for his anti-squeeky thingies... jack up your rig by the frame and do everything you can to put weight on the axle so that the spring isn't so tight at the ends of each leaf. Try to get them to pop back in place with a stick or something. Whew. Brain fried after realizing I lost 50 pounds over the last year!!! Amazing, finding that I don't need another set of srpings myself!
