I bought a 96 Cherokee about a month ago. When I bought it, I knew it had a bad clutch. Sometimes when I'm at a stop light, clutch in, in first gear, the jeep would start moving. And sometimes when I put it in reverse it would NOT come out of reverse until I let the clutch all the way out and pushed it back in. So I changed out the clutch with a Centerforce II clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and flywheel. It is still doing the thing with reverse. Anybody got any ideas????

Second the master cyl or slave cyl, or if it isnt bleed properly. Since bleeding is cheap try that first.

My suggestion is to replace the master and slave with A new sealed unit since you spent big bucks for the clutch.
This will give you trouble free driving for a long time.
You can play around with bleeding but the problem is the master cyl. is bleeding back due to worn seals and all the bleeding in the world won't make the seal any better and you will have to bleed the system quite often.

Body Damage is Cool
It could also be the pilot bushing, between the engine crankshaft, and trans input shaft. It will cause what is happening, and most folks don't even know it exists. They only cost a few $....Be cool...Mike <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/oink.gif" alt="" />
