 no oil at start up

Need a Spot

I have 84 22r that I rebuilt about a year ago , at start up the rod and mains rattle untill oil press builds up.Ive tried diff oil filters to no avail , also if it sits for an hour or so it does the same thing it just doesnt take as long for the oil press to build up.Any help would be greatful.

what weight oil are you using? is the oil pump new?
