Getting the Wheeling Fever

well it was -3 this morning at my house in Burnaby, my Pajero failed to start . So I figure I will replace the battery and add another. I have no place to plug in so the block heater is out

it was -25 in calgary this morning, may pajero started but it was a fight. i dont have a block heater(yet) but i do have an oil pan heater. but without pluging in i have started in the morning at -12 with only a bit of effort. i may suggest that you check your oil. I know im going to catch it for saying this but i did notice that my cold starts where easier after i changed the oil. Also I went from 5w30 dino to 5w30 synthetic, syntestic seems flows better in the cold and helps with cold starting. seems to be working for me so far. but i do plan on installing a block heater and getting a timer for it.

Went out today in the snow and tried to see if it would start. It took 3 tries and off she started. I think the problem was I still have B40 in the tank rom the eearly falland the batteryis problably 15 years old. Mine also started and ran for only 3 seconds then stopped yesterday.
What would be a good battery upgrade? I was thinking of an Optima. any thoughts

Optimas are great, I run the RedTop in my Jeep. IMO though, you don't need to spend the extra for a spiral cell battery unless you really want one. I got mine because WalMart was selling them for $134 with a 10 year warranty. I think the prices have gone way up since.
Go for a good brand name and highest CCA batteries you can fit with the best warranty. Deep cycle not necessary either.

Hey guys... not quite moved over, but almost. No phone, no cable, no 'net, grabbing some unsecured network here for a moment.
Damn is it cold. Last evening I went to bring the uhaul back, and wifey was following me in the truck. Sat all day (8 in the morning till 9 last night) unplugged (couldn't find my ext cord till later), and I heard the temp was -27*c. Started first time. Won't say it didn't chug a bit for 20 seconds or so, but it did stay going. Original batteries, Rottella Synth 0W.
Brrrr....
