Where to mount a temp sensor or 3VZE 3.0 V6? #767646 11/26/06 08:23 AM

Does anyone (Rauch?) know where to mount an aftermarket temp sensor on a 3.0 V6? I'd like to mount it just before the thermostat, but I'm not sure the thermostat housing is thick enough to tap effectively. I searched and found a reference to an in line mount from Custom Aluminum Radiator. Since I don't yet know if that'll work, I'm looking for other options. Anyone have any ideas/

Thanks,

Mark

Good idea! So drilling and tapping the JBWeld worked fine?

Yep. I also used teflon tape to ensure a seal. You could add the JB weld after you have the probe installed, like OOPS did. This is the hottest point for the coolant so you get some interesting readings, hehe. I got the idea from OOPS, Shout out to OOPS for the idea.

Be sure to let the JB weld fully harden before you tap it though.
