Depends. If it vibrates after the lift, you will have to do something to address it.

I have been running a year and a half with that vibration, including several wheeling trips, and about 10000 road miles. I have had no problems, other than a very loud knock on acceleration.
I would be glad to be rid of it, but i am fine with it the way it is. Eventually i will do something about it, but its not on the top of my list. -J <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

It is not just the annoyance of the vibration or even the risk of grenading a u-joint on the road that I would be worried about (although, that is pretty high on my list). It is the expensive things that vibrating driveshaft is attached to, namely the transmission and the rear axle that I would be worried about. Vibrations will eventually take their toll on bearings and gears. I would rather spring for a few shims and new u-joints than have to work on the tranny or rear axle AND then fix the vibration.

People typically have a one-piece driveshaft made to eliminate the carrier bearings; as that is what tends to go out first. There are also degree shims that can be added to correct pinion angle after lift. The torsion bar cranking 'tool' is a 27mm socket and a breaker bar or impact wrench... and can be found anywhere that carries larger individual sockets. I got mine at the local NAPA; Sears carries them as well. Some people have used a 1 1/16" socket since its close in size and they already had one. The degree shims should be available through any 4x4 shop/wholesaler. www.independent4x.com has them.
