Just real quick! i recently purchased a set of 84 cj-7 for almost nothing! well all i needed according to ME, was some paddle handles and new key cylinders, well I got the key cylinders but i cant install the paddle handles, theres nothing to hold them in the door?! am I missing something?? please help! it's raining!

What came in the doors when you got them?

Most paddle handles are in a square frame that mount in a square hole in the door metal. How is your door set up currently?


1977 CJ-7, fiberglass body, AMC 360 w/ headers, DUI ignition, Edelbrock intake and Holley 4150 carb, TF999, Dana 300, 4.56 gears lockers, York air comp, 4" susp lift, 2" body lift, BFG 35" M-T tires, Megashifter, AGR pump & box, REP8000 winch.

Oh yes there is! There is a triangle shaped WEDGE holding them into the door... It can be a ***** getting them out too! But reinstalling them is a piece of cake.

the triangle pieces are ther but do i need to b end them out so it latches? or what? im almost ready to ribbet them in <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />

IT IS SOMETHING i CANNOT EXPLAIN! iT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS TO SEE THE TAPERED END MUST back damn caps button out of it's place UP is the way I remember pushing it..

THe new door handles have the triangle wedges, but when i insert it there is alot of play? am i supposed to put something else in there to make them stay in place?? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

There is a rubber gasket that goes between the handle and the door. The wedge pressures against the gasket and stays in place forever.
