My head gasket went. Tried starting with a hydraulic lock. Three start attempts by me with a successful start on third try.... the white smoke then made me realize the HG . Tow truck guy tried a couple of times (long story) with the engine not turning over at all ue to hydraulic lock.
Question.... replace engine to prevent rod from evacuating the block at a later date after fixing the HG only? Opinions or experiences? I've decide to replace the engine....
