hey y'all ..continuing the no spark saga ......toyota screwed up an cant get the pickup assembly like they said they could (went to pick it up an they'd sent a ignition coil,n said oohh no you have to get a distributor to get the pickup assembly. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> duh )........only the whole distributor for 260+

i can get a used one for 100 at a junkyard

iv bought plenty of parts at junkyards jus never somethin electrical like this .....opinions??wise or not??

im getting strapped for cash soo i really like the idea of 100 over 265 but.... jus curious what you guys think

i havent totally proven its the pickup assembly but....none of the mechanics around here can or cant sooo ...it seems to be pickup assembly or ecu ..............thanks y'all

Yeah, they might tack on $10 or $15 to ship. Still, for that price, you can get 2 <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I was going to re-seal the power steering pump on the step-kids 97 Rodeo V6, Seal kit was $45 from the dealer. I ended up buying a good used pump for $10, plus $10 to ship to the door, took 3 days. Got me some good metric bolts of the old pump, the rest is trash, no more leaks <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />.

the first guys listed wanted 70 bucks to overnight it

second doesnt have it

third wants 35 an 15 to ship(right on dude <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> ) an maybe another ten or 20 to overnight it ...gotta call em in 20 min an see the guy that does shipping comes in tomorrow soo we went around cuz i want it tomorrow LOL ...

toyota junkyard in cali wants 75 an 50 shipped lol

messed up thing is that 70 dollar shipping quote ....hes still cheaper then the local yards LOL

thanks alot man....im bout pullin my hair out tryin2 get this truck running again

any idea how to separate the pickup coil from the distributor?? cuz if i replace the distributor dont i gotta mess with the timing??? iv never done that before....

Easiest way.

Take off your dist. cap, and turn the crank by hand so the rotor points straight up. Then loosen and pull the dist.

Insert new dist. to where the rotor will point straight up, (with a little adjustment around the mounting bolt), and tighten 'er down. Your timing will remain the same.
