My SWB was rigged to pull way back when I got it. It was simple 4-wire and tapped into the truck's harness where the wires run up from underneath and into the rear light housings.

My Gen II's are 4-wire that connect up inside the rear light housings. No converter, just OEM style connnectors that hook up in between the truck's harness and the lights' connectors. Complete plug-n-play.
