Gen 1 is easy set up. A simple 4 wire harness will work. The turn signals tap into the bottom wire of the tail light plug on each side. It the green wire. The park light taps into the red wire on the top of the tail light plug. Ground can be grounded anywhere, but I mounted mine to the mounting screw.

Here are some pics showing the wiring. This thread might need to be added to the Tech reference section so no one else gets confused.
