Maybe use YJ leafs and XJ or TJ coils?

This seemed like a loaded post. I'm happy to see good manners.

I want my Raider to pass smog tomorrow, then get the RV to pass too. Then, I want my Chevy to be driveable. Then...

Serious about the smog testing though!!

Def glad to see the attitude change from all parties. This has always been a pretty civil forum and the prior post was def. as 'pirate' as I'd ever want to see the wire become.

Also it was great speaking with you last week (I got your VM yesterday too but have been swamped) and I already mentioned during our call that a 6" front suspension lift would be about as high as I think most on here including myself would want to go with an IFS setup. Our drive trains (both axle strength & gearing) simply can't handle the right size tire to 'properly' fit under a 10" lift.

As for other products I'd like to see... well, you said you have access to a full machine shop and curious what level of fabrication can be done? Lift kits are one thing but in addition to a 6" lift I wouldn't mind seeing...

- a dual xcase adapter for whatever case would mate with the stock xcase (or 2 xcases that mate with the oe tranny) for a 94-96 SR (guys what xcase options can we use to do this?).

- a full skid plate set from the front to rear of rig capable of handling the vehicle weight at that spot if we dropped onto a pointy boulder while rock crawling (2-3' drop?). It should either have recessed mounting bolts or bolt shoulders that prevent it from getting hung up on rocks as we slide over them and also method of reinforcing or replacing the stock mounting points for said skid plates.

- uber low profile hard core bumpers (.220 wall minimum IMHO) front and rear with the front having the winch mounting holes & line opening. I have design ideas on this going round and round in my head.

- an exocage kit

FWIW, if you're not sure about the design for any of these items but are willing to undertake the design, fab, test, & built process, don't hesitate to ask the forum for feedback on your ideas and why they may or may not work. The guys here are 2nd to none with their collective knowledge about the Mitsu although they can sometimes get stupidly ornery..

About the only other source if info that would be better would be the original mitsu designers themselves but unless you speak/write japanese and have a REALLY GOOD IN @ MITSU fogetaboutit.

The SAS kit has definitely caught my interest lately. I mentioned in the SAS kit thread I am growing tired of the front wheel salute and uneasy feeling when the rear articulates and the front doesn't .

X2 and much easier and more reliable than drop lifts, Super easy to make if you have CNC plasma, laser or water jet.

If you're still set on selling those drop lifts you're gonna need to flog them out on the rocks to make sure the lift can hang before you'll see any serious interest.

LOL...you are the one who banned him.

Anybody that tries to sell non-finished , non-tested, potentially hazardous after-market parts needs to be flogged.

That being said.....this post is much better as the folks here ARE THE MITSUBISHI EXPERTS and it would behoove anybody interested in Monteros to sit back, shut up and read.

All that being said........

Welcome Liftmaster! Good to have some new vision on an old vehicle. Sorry about the "IFS drop kits are for posers" comment and poking fun at the progress. .....I just thought you were lying about it being finished and.....once somebody bullsh!ts with a price tag I go off.

Anyway....welcome. I look forward to you proving us skeptics totally wrong.

this has nothing to do with lifts unless you consider moving the gas tank up a lift, but I'd like to get a 25 gallon or so tank for a gen1 with rear leafs that has more ground clearance than stock.

Yeah an auxiliary gas tank that mounts underneath my gen II and works in conjunction with my stock setup would be good too. Alternatively if its easier to replace the stock tank and put in a bigger single tank, I'd be up for that as well.
