The body lift will help for that monster air box. It lays kind of cross-wise, towards the passenger front. It'll fit forward of the turbo and in back of the radiator on a diagonal to the engine. Sort of.

The Starion/Conquest is am impressive car. I got to drive Monte3's 5-speed, and as long as you kept it on the "boil," it cooked.

one thing that will hold me up a bit is, the flexplate off the starion does not match our torque converter. 4 bolts on the starion, 6 on the raider. Our original flexplate was unrepairable. So does any one know, can I just have new holes drilled in the starion flexplate to match our torque converter. I do understand that they would need to be precise in there location. and can anyone recomend a shop to do this.
Thanks,
Mark

Someone on the Wire here has a brand new flexplate he's looking to get rid of. I'll see if I still have his name in my P.M.'s

Edit: Nope. Make a new post...

Body Damage is Cool
It might be a good idea to determine whether the Montero or Starquest torque converter is bettter for your application - I'm sure they are different and there might be a strength or driveability benefit to using a Starquest converter rather than the original Montero converter. I'm far from a transmission expert but I understand that a torque converter should be matched to the powerband of the engine for best performance which would lead me to believe that the Starquest unit would be more appropriate - hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I will post up with more info and recommendations.

The Montero converter is the one I'm going to use. I'd think that if there was a difference, I'd want to one more closely matched to what it's trying to move.

FastEddy on here says it's a great match, BTW. Come to think of it, he detailed that the Monter's converter stall speed was just about perfect for the torque curve of the turbo engine.

My thinking was that if there was a difference between the two, the Starquest converter might be preferable because it was originally designed for the higher power level and different torque curve of the turbo motor vs. the non-turbo converter. Just my $.02 worth since I have no actual experience with either of them.

Your $.02 is worth more than you value it at. The KM-148 as a whole unit is one tough hombre, though. It'll stop speeding bullets and pull a locomotive.

So to speak.

I will be using the converter from our Raider, the tranny in the donner car was not working to well, so don't want to take a chance.

I am going to see if I can get my son to help me get the harness all in this week. and I have a body lift I want to get in.

but will finaly be moving forward, life always hold suprises!

Thanks
