About 6 years ago I found a wholesaler who was willing to sell them for $12 a piece plus shipping, but he required me to buy a minimum 50 filters plus a $250 fee for setting up an accout. I think I paid $900 for 50 filters but I came out way ahead.

My math computes that to $45.00 per filter. How is that "way ahead"? I can now go down to O'riley and get as many as I need for 28 bucks each including tax AND delivery (to my local store)!!
