About 6 years ago I found a wholesaler who was willing to sell them for $12 a piece plus shipping, but he required me to buy a minimum 50 filters plus a $250 fee for setting up an accout. I think I paid $900 for 50 filters but I came out way ahead. My math computes that to $45.00 per filter. How is that "way ahead"? I can now go down to O'riley and get as many as I need for 28 bucks each including tax AND delivery (to my local store)!! Those figures are just guesstimates. I think paid about $13-18 per filter depending on whether they charged me a $250 processing fee, I just can't remember. I know there was a $250 dollar processing fee but I might have bypassed it by spending $500+ dollars, so maybe I only paid about $650. I looked at the box in my garage and I bought these back in 2004 so it hard to remember all the details. Good news is I was able to track down the wholesaler and I have attached a link for you. I could check my reciepts to give you an exact number, but that's not really important. What is important is how much are they charging in 2010. Call them and see what they say. I looked them up and they still have 225 filters but they still requiring you to buy a minimum of about 50 filters. Currently they have the PH6353 filters listed for $12.23 plus shipping. I would guess you could get them for about $16 each with shipping if you are willing to buy 50 or so at a time. Hope this helps and sorry if that was confusing. Spence http://www.surplusparts.com

The Pajero Owners Club UK www.pocuk.com has oil filters on their web site. These are for the 4D56 engine. The web site lists two filters. MMC : MD069782 ADL : ADC42105

Spence http://www.surplusparts.com So let me get this straight. You first said you got 50 filters for $900 and now think it may be only $650 (changes your "guesstimated" cost to $32.50 each), and you are willing to sell them to me for $50.00 each plus shipping when I can get all I need for $28.00 each? I am not interested in buying 50 filters for this engine unless I could find some unsuspecting individual to pay $50.00 each for them. I think I will stick with the original plan and modify my extra filter housing to fit the PH8A.

Are you always this combative when people try to help you? No I am not, and I apologize. I just got irritated, and can't see paying $50, $37.50, or even $28.00 every time I need a filter for this truck. I also can't see suggesting that I pay $650 (or more) for 50 filters as help. Help would be finding a place to get the PH6353 for around $15 each, and one at a time. That way I would not need to modify any parts to use a cheaper filter. I hope you all can understand the reason for my rant.

If you can get them for under $30 your doing pretty well, but if you expect to further reduce the cost of the filter and get them for around $15 each you're going to have buy in bulk. Buying bulk will save you alot of money.

Spence http://www.surplusparts.com I can't believe what a bonehead I am! All this time I was going by the math I used to come up with the $45 figure. Not sure how I came up with it (must be some kinda new math), but I was way wrong! Even if you did pay $900 for 50 filters, that is $18.00 each and still a bargain. I don't need that many filters for my Mits, but I may be able to make a bulk order including filters for the Benzs (mine and my brothers), and my brothers Powerstroke. Thank you for the link and again, I apologize for my bad attitude.
