Wow! Love it love it love it! Next time someone complains there's no aftermarket for these rigs, someone needs to post a link to this thread!!

I will commment on the ditch lights - they are awesome! Mine are lit by the indicator, but they really do light up corners! Too bad Mitsu NA didn't give us these...

Thanks for the AT gauge tips - I have an Autometer gauge in my pod, but still haven't hooked it up yet. Maybe this is the inspiration I need!

Please please please keep us updated. I'm sure everyone can use at least one useful mod from your truck. Probably more...

OK, its been a while...

7. my springs in the rear although they were custom springs stronger than stock, still weren't up to the task of supporting all the added weight of cargo, people, and our welding creations and fabrication

Hey Scottie,

I would suggest airbags in the rear versus stronger/higher lift springs. Firestone, Airlift & Polyair all make a bag for the coil sprung Monty.

Your rig would fit right in with some of the expedition vehicles down under...

I have air bags in my other montero that I use for towing, but for a vehicle that needs a plyable suspension for off road applications, the air bag makes it too stiff for my liking. I have re-designed a new set that should do the trick.

Off topic, but I see you moved to Australia, for good I assume? How are you liking it? How is retirement treating you?

Since you are down there, I am trying to get my hands on a set of rear tail light assemblies from a pajero that are brand new and have the reverse lights built into them. Do you have a Mitsubishi dealer near you that can order a new set in for me? These would be for a gen 2 montero of course.

X3. I am also interested. Aftermarket rear bumper from a jeep means no reverse lights for me right now...

I have the Australian spec lights and the amber is really dark plus it has no hole for a light. The Euro tail lights have the correct combo for stop/turn/reverse and they are plug and play where the Aus lights are not because they have signals in the bumper. Do i need to show pics? The Australian taillights look the coolest but didn't work for my application so i made my own hybrid US/AUS (US lights with working dark amber signals)

US = Stop/Turn
AUS = Stop/Reverse
EUR = Stop/Turn/Reverse

I thought it was kind of funny that Toasty didn't know the reverse lights in his new set up even worked until I pointed it out. He's got separate reverse lights that are wired up as well, and I mentioned how one of the four lights didn't work, and he seemed surprised I mentioned "one of four."

It's brighter in reverse than forward.

So how do we go about getting euro spec tail lights that have the reverse lights built in? Do the folks from Canada get that style? I know we have a couple forum members from Canada. I want new ones ordered from an over seas dealer direct from Mitsubishi
