Well guys... It has been 9 years at my current place of employment, and I'm leaving today. I put my 2 weeks notice in 2 weeks ago. It's kind of strange because I have never really quit a job before, and never knew how it felt.
SO... I'm sitting here at my desk contemplating what I SHOULD be doing, and my right hand just mysteriously opens up IE, and clicks Favorites, and then 4x4Wire, so here I am.
At least 4x4wire, and all my buds here will be with me wherever I am employeed...(or not employeed) It's kinda like family around here.
So.. what does everyone think about an exit interview??? Fill it out?? don't fill it out?

I'd fill it out, but be nice. You may not want to burn the bridge if they decide to make whatever changes needed to be made to keep you there.

Good luck on whatever you do...
My "new" job has been getting pretty stressful. Companies losing money and there are changes coming. My supervisor wont tell me what but only that I will be getting a new position.
Fun times..
It's never easy either way.

Good luck. I hope you have a new job lined up, and looked into coming back to your old job just in case the new one doesnt pan out. Jobs are hard to come by. And just when you think you have it bad at your current job, the new one could be worse. Thats what happened to me, but I'm just glad to have a job right now as I was laid off last month, so I can't go back, but I was lucky enough to find a new job right away.

So.. what does everyone think about an exit interview??? Fill it out?? don't fill it out? Take care of it and leave on good terms. It will pay off later. John B.

Thanks guys. I wish the questions on this exit interview would have been asked to me 6 months to a year ago.... It might have been able to help something then.
BUT, I'm just a small fish... I think we've got 500 or so employees, and I'm one of prob 120 salary folks....
I spoke with my Human resources director about the interview, and i've decided to not do it, and be completely neutral. This way I do not have to lie, and say things are unicorns, and flowers, OR burn any bridges.
Knock on wood, BUT.... if I'm un-employed for a while, it would not be the worst thing to ever happen.

If Curtis is anything like me, you jump on the projects you've got laying around and devote one day a week looking for work-- ya won't have time for them later!!
