Very nice.
What kind of gas mileage, sorry, diesel mileage, do you get?

I got about 21-22 MPG with my 4D56ITD LWB in OZ. He should do better.

Don't forget to replace the tensioner spring when you do the timing belt/water pump. Beware aftermarket water pump o-rings. Regardless of the instructions, I'd use Dawn etc. as a lubricant when you re-install the water pump O-ring.

I don't know why you'd need camo - the smoke screen makes it hard to see you.

I'm getting about 25 mpg.

I need to get the gumption up to replace the timing belt. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I'm afraid. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" />

It came camo.... And the Smokescreen.. Yep.

No Monteros, OR Raiders ever came with diesels in the US.... Sadly.

This is Such a well balanced vehicle with this motor. TONS better than a NA 2.6

Body Damage is Cool
You should paint it olive drab with black wheels <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> But I'm diggin' the camo even more.

Would you have liked it better as a LWB?

You guys know there's a guy that can get a 4D56 engine/trans combo from japan for about $1500 plus shipping to Charleston, SC right?

Quote
engines are coming in charelston SC. est shipping time is 29 days. email me
wriincorporated@gmail.com
available:
4jb1t with 5 spd 4x mt $1900
4jg1t with 5 spd 4x mt $1700
4d56t with 5 spd 4x mt (mitsubishi) $1500
prices do not include shipping, add $300 to get to charelston. i would prefer people pick them up themselves, or arrange their own shipping after it reaches port.

Personally.. I'm considering the Isuzu 3.1 turbo intercooled for my Isuzu Pickup. (4jg1t)

Here's what I remember:
Use a breaker bar or equivalent against the frame and bump the starter to remove the crankshaft bolt.

Take out the radiator. I imagine a pro could do the job with the radiator in, but there's not much room in there.

Use a MMC O-ring for the water pump.

The job is pretty straightforward. The engine is easy to turn over with the crank bolt when you're done. Do that a couple of times to make sure all the timing marks are still aligned. If it doesn't turn - you've probably slipped a notch.

One of my customers gave me a Perkins of some sort a few weeks back. I just have to go get it. I was thinking about building a small krawler buggy for the boys with it. Now you've got my mind wandering Reuben...
