Okay, all I know is that my clutch doesn't do anything. I can't get the vehicle into gear, and the pedal sticks down. I'm planning on taking it to a local mechanic, but I want to provide the parts. Can you guys think all the parts I should need in order to get my clucht working, and to do it right? I was planning on buying OEM for everything, and ordering form mitsuparts.net. THANKS For Your Help!!

The pedal goes to the floor? Sure its not your clutch slave cylinder that blew out?

Man, you could smell that clutch burning for awhile before It finally gave up.

what car?

You should still feel pressure from the throw out. If the pedal is pegged at the floor then you have no linkage/hydraulics.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
If the pedals to the floor you'll need either Clutch slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder or possibly both. If you're slave cylinder was failing, it could cause you to burn the clutch, but the clutch may have life left in it, and would cost significantly more for a shop to replace than just a slave or master cylinder. Get the slave working before you decide to replace the clutch, since you'll have to pull the tranny out to do that

OKay, it's not the master or slave cylinder. Just to be clear, there is no position on the shifter that will feel like it is in gear. It's like everything is a neutral. Could this result in JUST wearing out the clutch? Or do I have some bigger issue as well? One of my buddies is going to help me do this...so I'll be saving at least 400 bucks. Not 100% on the quality of his work yet...but I guess I'll find out. I'm going to order all of my parts from mitsubishiparts.net in a week or so.

Thanks guys. Oh Chris? This is my '92 Montero, 3.0, 5-spd manual truck.

I'm kind of kidding around here, but if the pedal goes to the floor AND there doesn't seem to be any position where the shifter is engaging any gear, it sounds like someone may have removed the transmission completely. They sound like two unrelated problems, to me.

I'll be interested to see how this pans out.

Couple of ?'s.

Does the clutch feel "right" when it goes to the floor, or does it press real easy?

Does the shifter move outside the normal H pattern?
