I would say there's no benefit to putting the FMIC inside the engine compartment. I don't see how it could "cool" any air if it's inside the engine compartment. If you're going to do that, save yourself some installation headache and just route the turbo outlet piping directly to the TB, maybe wrap it in header wrap, or some kind of foil insulation to keep the engine heat at bay. Otherwise, mount the FMIC up front where it belongs, and route the piping accordingly, so the FMIC will work as designed.
