For that amount of work you are far better off with the IC up front. During slow driving I have measured 180?+ underhood temps. The temps drop considerably with speed. The issue is once the IC is hot it takes allot of energy to cool them down, especially the bar & plate style. Any IC mounted above the engine gets baked when sitting or driving at legal speeds. I doubt you will be driving up at stupid speeds to cool a top mount down.
An SQ IC mounts forward of the radiator quite easily especially with a manual trans.
