Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.

"This article may require cleanup to meet Wikipedia's quality standards. Please improve this article if you can. (October 2008)" Wiki must be joking, unless quality standards are the same as having no standards.

As usual, not everything is as it seems. Probably more now days than ever.

The Supreme Court established by a concrete ruling that states and cities can restrict gun ownership, right up to the point of banning gun ownership all together, which they apparently can't do.

If you can't carry a weapon or have it loaded and easily accessible, including in your own home...it might as well be banned.

The Supreme Court didn't establish any right. It established that gun ownership is a privelage that any level of government can restrict just about any way they want.

You don't need government established training, or licensing or permissiont to excersize your free speech or your religion. At least you're not suppose to. That's a true right.

The right to bear arms is a true right as well. But the government has less respect for that right now than ever before.

So long as you need permission to excersize your right, that permission can be taken away at any time and therefore it was never a right to begin with, that the government recognized.
