Well, made soem progress today. I pulled the top end off, and as i thought 2 and 3 were rusted to hell. Not sure if the crank is seized up either, but im thinking it's just the rings rusted to the cylinder. All 4 cylinders are soaking in a lot of kroil, hopfully it will break free tomorrow.

I didnt give the head a good look but im assuming its cracked bad.

If the engine wont break lose tomorrow it's going out and im tossing in the turbo engine.

I'm not real happy with the wheels I picked up. They have a bit too much offset and stick out about 3 inches. I'll probably sell them and try to find some 10.5 wide tires with maybe a 8.5 wheel. I should be able to run these if I pull the plastic bumper ends off for now though. It's not very legal though. I do love how these old enkeis look on it ion the bright side.

Looks like early Chevy backspacing on these rims. You are better off with a deeper backside.

At least the seized cylinders are not at the bottom.

Cheers, Charlie

I managed to move th tero out n put on the rear wheels and get it turned around and the garage reorganized a little in prep for the engine swap. Crappy iphone pics. I also snagged hte roof rack that came with my mitsu van that I had taken off and did a quick test fit. looks like she will fit nicely. Now I need to grab a rack top.

Engine is out. Trans should come out tomorrow. I just hate automatics too much to keep one in. They are such a mess when pulling the radiators, trasn etc..

So tomorrows plans. Drop the trans then sneak the raider into the field near my lancer, bring my turbo engine over from the other garage/ Start swapping parts, and hopefully get the oil pickup tube welded in and maybe even the turbo shortblock dropped in by tomorrow wiht the manual trans.

I'll probably hold off putting the locker in until I have the vehicle up and running.

it's not too bad. I need some new door panels, and a manual center console. It has the off road package or whatever they call it. I basically got impatient and bought this seized up pos engine auto instead of driving 4 hours and getting a manual with a bhg. From the looks of it the body had some bondo though, so I tihnk I did alright. The passenger side quarter has a bad dent going aliong it, btu I figure I can just get it fixed down the road. The gold has really grown on me. The 33 fit nicely other than the drivers side front bumpoer is bent in a little and rubas against the wheel on hard turns.

I reallycant wait until this thing is running though. I dont think I have ever owned a vehicle with this much headroom.

For covering those tires try flexy flares.

They keep the mud off, plus I would think they would keep the law off your back.

Those flares dont look bad at all. I had bee debating on either finding a set of 10.5 enkeis or getting flares down the road. I might seriously consider the flares. How much does a set of those run?
