I am not that far behind on my setup, its just that time has become more scarse. That plus I am still in need of some much needed parts as ECU, TBI, harness and knock box. Besides that I am loving your progress <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

slowly getting some stuff done, I took a break the last few days. I about have the fuel pump mounting situation figured out. I'm not sure if I want to mount it on that crossbar between the tank and axle though. Not sure if I will have any issues if I go sinking the rig in deap mud or water.

I somehow forgot the damn heater core line for the engine before I put the head on, so I had to work that piece in, not very fun.

I also found my torque wrench and torqued the head down.

I have to go buy a bunch of random stuff tomorrow. I wanan get some ford 4.6l injector clips, a few mroe hose clamps, clutch slave cylinder, and wire for the ecu and fuel pump power.

I'm also waiting for my turbo and oil cooler lines to come in. I'm hoping to get the wiring harness installed tomorrow, along with the power steering pumjp with a mod, fuel pump, and whatever else I can do while I am waiting for parts. I may get the radiator installed.

I used a Starion pump and attached it to the crossmember as you are considering. It has been there for 21 years now with no problems. Mine has spent hours submerged and worse than that the last 13 years parked over tall grass with our moist acidic soils.

I should update this. I'm about to finish off my 6'th pounder of coors. Harness is mostly ran end plugged in. Radiator hooked up, valves adjusted, turbo cam installed, thermostat installed, test fitting the air filter looks good, coil hooked up, and I managed to use the wrong mail b38 connector for my 88 harness lol. It's getting hard wired now.

I should have the downpipe on tomorrow along with a new water line for the turbo return, fue;l return lines installed, and fuel pumpe wiring hooked up.

I\m pretty sure I'm real close. I need to make sure the tank has been drained, but there isnt much left.

crappy iphone pics yes!

Kudos to you for going thru with your conversion. I'm giving up on mine, so I'll have to get rid of the turbo conversion parts I've accumulated so far (turbo, manifold, custom downpipe, hoses, intercooler, front engine cover, t-stat cover, water pump, basically everything except the fuel side, oil cooler, and electronics).

Despite what folks have said, I'm not convinced this is something a shadetree mechanic can do, so I'm not going to test my patience. I'm going to cut my losses and just drive it with the new Weber.

When I lived in California I had an apartment with no place to work on a car.... My First Turbo Raider was totaled so I built one in the parking lot at my work place, under a big palm tree.

One member built one while in school, If I'm not mistaken from his dorm room.

This may not be for everybody, but quite a few have done swaps with limited resources.

The only issue I had was when the VP of the company found me using the company fork lift for an engine hoist. The upside was I was licensed to run it. It saved me a trip to the local rental company. He scowled at first... then smiled and went on his way.

A lot of this has to do with comfort level and work VS reward. For a small investment you can get your 2.6 running with a new carb. The commitment to do a turbo swap is a lot bigger in cost and labor.
