Well I took her for the first real maiden voyage tonight with some buddies. After a leaking cam seal fix, and a radiator swap. we managed to get t ready ebnough to drive. It still needs a bit of adjusting probably tps/isc reset, and a little timing, but for the omst part this thing is freaken awesome. I took it up in the hills to try out the 4x4, and just tested it on a little hill. Seemed to work excellent and gobs of power in 4 low.
I have noticed they brakes are lacking quite a bit and I get a big of a steering wobble wghen I hit bumps on the road. Is there any fix for that like a steering dampner or something? I figure part of it has to due with the huge negative offset on these 15x12 wheels.

You most likely have some worn components in your steering or suspension that are causing the wobble. Crawl underneath the front end and have someone move the steering wheel slightly back and forth while you look for slop in any of the steering or suspension joints. Pay particular attention to the idler arm as that is generally the weakest link in the steering linkage. You can then jack up the front end and use a pry bar to see if any of your ball joints or control arm bushings are loose.
A Montero with no worn components in the suspension or steering is surprisingly tight and has no need for a steering stabilizer - those are made for domestic vehicles with under-designed suspensions.

A quick pic my friend took while we were checking out a hill to ake sure we could get back up it. Stupid and daring we went out alone, but within walking distance of the house, just a 10 mile walk or so lol. I dumped the rig in quite a few deep ruts and prayed they were not too deep as the mud water over them didnt tell how deep they were. This thing is f;'n amazing stock with just 33s. I was driving over dig outs of logging roads that would high center just about anything longer. The short distance from wheels to bumpers really make a difference. The lsd was working fantastic, and evne though the truck has some crap at basically road tires on it climbed very well. I cant imagine how well this thing will do with some good mt tires. I must say I put this thing through it's paces today and it took some damn hard hits. Did stupid things I shouldnt have.. Mitsubishi really made one hell of a rig. I can see how they started to dominated dakar. I'm in love. ![[Linked Image]](http://nwstarquest.com/montero/monteromuddy.jpg)

Long time since I updated, but I pulled the pan back off, and head, did a new hg, new oil pump, and new rod bearings, punched the plug out of the block for a pan, and added 33x12.5 bfg km2. I also figured out my death wobble was a ever so slightly bent wheel, had it put on the back and problem solved.
TOok her out and my mas died the other day, bent the gutter rail up, dended around the passeger tail light and racked it, smashed the gas tank even worse... It was a great trip,
I'm currently working on getting a shackle lift, and torsion crank, along with installing a nice stereo with a few amps. I'm also hoping to intercool it this week as well, and get a cb installed.

Ditto on the pic resize comment...
Are those all your cars? My first out of college was an 82 Challenger. If I were to decommission my SWB turbo, I'd love to find another Challenger to swap the motor into. I look every once in a while, but never see one.
