Did it get overfilled with oil or refrigerant?

It seems like the compressor is fighting against the high side pressure till things get up to speed.

I'd take it to a shop that specialized and have a flush and fill done and a new drier installed. Cheaper than a new compressor and it would eliminate an overfill/blockage from the list.
