I have a 1996 T100. My cruise used to work great. However, lately the cruise is operating "jerky". What I mean is that when the cruise is activated it surges when driving down the road. Feels like someone is driving and steadily pressing and releasing the gas. Very annoying. Also, since it's surging like that, it will downshift and then stay there and not upshift on the highway.

It's not the engine because the engine runs great otherwise. No problems and when I use the gas pedal it runs perfect.

I pulled the electric motor that runs cruise control. The brushes looked a little worn but still enough. I cleaned up the connections and reassembled it. Didn't seem to change anything.

So any ideas??
