I've been thinking more and more about turboing mine. Just 5-6psi. That's supposed to net 50 odd HP if done right.
Yeah that will get you in the 150-160 neighborhood. BEGI has their Shanghai kit with the chinese turbo, non-intercooled which is okay if you're only staying at 5-6 psi, for under $1500. Their base kit with a Garrett turbo is more like $2K, but if your goals are modest I'd stick with the chinacharger really. They've been holding up well for people lately, you wouldn't exactly be stressing it, and they're cheap to replace if yours ever craps its pants. One thing I'd recommend about those base BEGI S kits is to ditch the band-aid fuel management (rising rate FPR) and get a real ECU (Megasquirt, ~$300 if you DIY) and some bigger injectors instead.

You know about m.net, and the SM forum is at specmiata.com. Fair warning about miataturbo.net... you will get banned if you just join there to post in the classifieds. You are expected to make a semi-detailed intro post in the meet & greet section, and you have to have 10 posts to use the classifieds. If it is detected that you are spamming up your post count to use the classifieds, you will be banned. They have to keep a heavy hand on the ban hammer there or it gets absolutely inundated with idiots posting gems like "ZOMG gyz I bot this mad tyte Miata how much booostz can i run and wutz the best trubo LOL." But if you make an intro thread and mention you took it to the drag strip and casually converse about that, you'll be just fine.
