>>>*I could have sworn this site was filled with kids...*LOL**...But then I am only 67.

One way to notice the years are piling up is to look around and realize your own kids are in their 40's. (And they still aren't dry behind the ears yet...)

I did notice about 4 years back that things hurt where they didn't used to, and the middle of me was getting to be larger than my shoulders.

*Funny thing is, once we got moved back here to the ranch there were things to do. Like fall trees, build buildings, shovel gravel, dig ditches, fix stuff that is broken, then little things like moving 40 tons of hay in the last two weeks and I picked up every single bale myself at least once and most of them twice.

Now it is 3:30 in the morning and I am up, waiting for it to become light enough outside to go...do some work?

Oddly nothing hurts, and I stepped on the scales and they read 208..??? I was 235 when we moved down here. No wonder my pants keep sliding down.

I just told the wife I want to build a race car, do some drag racing. I expected her to throw a fit, she worries when I have all four wheels off the ground on my ATV.

I told her nothing really fast, maybe a nice little 9 second flat car. Go teach the kids some things about reaction times.

*Just what I need to do, right? She said it sounds like fun!.... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />....*EB

*Beats the he** outa me!....*LOL**...

Ted, I keep remembering my maternal grandfather. When he was about 85, my mother and aunt went down home to "check" on he oand my grandmother, and caught him about 90' up in an old oak tree, topping it out with a hand saw because it had gotten tall enough to block off part of the sun from his 4acre garden. He did this while taking a break from building a new fireplace for his neighbor, all masonry, all by him, two story house for the chimney. There was an old Ford tractor in the barn he'd just torn down to rebuild the engine (why I don't know - he plowed the garden with his mule). Mother and aunt crawled all over him about "overdoing" it, and made him promise to cut back. He only lasted 5months after that...

Never quit working...

I am 62. I just this afternoon received the pictures from my 45 HS reunion. Evidently, my mirror is kinder to me than the camera was to my classmates. It couldn't be that I am overlooking the signs of my own aging.

The closer you are to the source, the more you overlook... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I haven't seen most of the high school crowd since graduation day 44 years ago...

I have connected with a few via Facebook and wonder who those old dudes are. Me, I just have a lot more gray hair... a few extra pounds... a few extra lines...
