Gone in 05 was a terrifying experience. I show up to see front clips falling off Gen I Xterras, engines and transmissions falling out, engineers from Nissan looking at all the defects.....Clearly, this was going to be bad. And it turned out to be so. No Nissan would ever survive the Sierras with out every single component upgraded.(might as well be a buggy)

AZ Certified? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> I will look again and see when that camping trip is in AZ. Anything is possible.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Jeez, drop out of sight for a few years, stick my head back n and son of a gun, almost like nothing has changed...except an Xterra? Lloyd, how could u, tsk tsk tsk.

Well, I can see your predicament but honestly, I've now been thru about 15 4x4's. Bottom line, the 1 ton Dodge Cummins trashed everything. HOWEVER, was more like driving a military veh than a 4x4. My FSJ with the 401 and 35's/gears etc. wasn't bad, but still too much truck. In the end, at my age, it came down to a SWB RangeRover classic (95), and my 95 SR. The Rover was an electrical nightmare to sort out, but once the air suspension was jettisoned, some tall coils and a few odds and ends added, and set up entirely differently than you might suspect (for instance it ROCKS on pizza cutters) in the end, one helluva good all round 4x4 (plus inside its like an old Rolls smile. However, having said that, in all the 4x4 world, I havn't found a damned thing I'd trade my 95SR for. In my book, the best stock 4x4 ever built. Get an SR Lloyd, take it to AZ, can't beat that gangs offer smile
