We've got a host for the build, so we'll need to plan a date and circle the wagons. If everyone comes and helps out it'll be a piece of cake.

Ok,the front engine covers were off, and the timing belt looked ok, although a bit loose. Not sure if he had messed with the tension, but a new hydraulic tensioner was supposedly installed. The mechanic also drained the oil to check for metal, and there was none.(would there be if it just had valve damage?) He had not yet done a compression check. So, for taking a risk I gave him 500.00 and he will have his AAA account transfer it to my shop down by my house. Worse case I pay 80.00 to evaluate it, find out it is top end damage and sell it to the scrapper for 350.00.

Heck, I go on vacation and Lloyd shows up, AND Seeratlas! Who next? Uncle Doug? Wow!

Good to hear from you Lloyd. I went to GONE Moab this year with the Pajero, and was hoping you'd be there so I could spank your X and turn you back to the dark side! But it sounds like you were already on your way... you should build this rig and come back to GONE next year. We're going again. Me, my Paj and my Nissan buddies...

If all it needs is timing gear, you've gotten yourself a good deal my man. Even having the heads redone, you should still have a good truck for not much $$$... Look forward to hearing more!

Cheers

I think you've inspired everyone Lloyd. Get a Solid truck, bring it to AZ and we'll make sure its a well oiled TANK when you leave with it. We'll even put a big sticker on the back of it that says it's "AZ CERTIFIED". Lets get this done. BTW, Welcome Back!
