I've had this same problem with a 5-speed SWB. The pin in question is accessed from the top, through the shifter boots. Take the shifter panel off from inside and look down while you move the shift levers.

Take a look at the FSM. It's the pin they talk about being careful not to drop it... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> It also talks about how far to insert and how much should come out the backside of the shift rail.
